Supported Source is a platform built to make great open source projects sustainable. We handle the legal, billing, and procurement scaffolding that otherwise makes commercializing software difficult.
Our vision
Better software by supporting the maintainers.
Every company runs on open source it didn't build and doesn't pay for. That's great for companies, but the maintainers of the most critical libraries are burning out, and the gaps are starting to show.
The answer isn't more donation buttons. It's a real commercial path: a procurement-friendly platform companies are comfortable buying from, that gets the maintainers paid.
Our founder
Jeff Pickhardt
Jeff founded Supported Source after over a decade in the technology industry. Previously, he started an AI document analysis company, Docalysis. He was also staff engineer at Palo Alto Networks (a Fortune 500 cybersecurity company), a senior engineer at Google, and an early engineer at tech startups.
Jeff is a Y Combinator founder and holds a B.S. in Physics from Stanford. He's been programming since he was a child.
